Yves-Alain has successfully grown or transformed the digital presence of many leading brands in the education, bank, watch and tourism industries since 2001. Strategic thinker as well as doer Yves-Alain has built bridges between marketing and IT teams and functions, facilitating value creation and raising the ROI of digital projects and programs. While focusing most of his work on digital, Yves-Alain has also been instrumental in the inception and launch of new brands & programs, as well as developing winning communication campaigns.
His recent work has concentrated on building data analytics capacities and rolling out marketing technologies to leverage ROMI (return on marketing investment)
In his younger years, Yves-Alain developed a passion for flying and aviation and starting his career at Swissair was a logical step. As a trainee he learned all ground operations skills for two years before moving into sales and eventually progressing from call centre agent to Head of Marketing Communication for Western Switzerland.
Leaving Geneva, Yves-Alain moved to Zurich to develop a wellness and fitness program for the biggest retailer in Switzerland, Migros. When the Internet started to gain traction in the early 2000s Yves-Alain decided to return to the aviation industry and helping airlines to implement their online booking engines. After Swissair ceased as an airline, Yves-Alain was asked to establish the new Swiss International Airlines brand from scratch working as a Marketing Communication & Incentive Manager for Switzerland – the home market.
Two years later, Yves-Alain moved back to Geneva to develop the Swiss automobile clubS (Touring Club Suisse) presence on the Internet, building new web profiles, launching an Ecommerce platform and an Intranet solution. Called by the founder of Digital Luxury Group, a Geneva based digital marketing agency, Yves-Alain took over operations of the agency and key accounts to double the size of the agency in four years, serving prestigious clients from the luxury watch industry, the private banking and premium FMCG brands.
His passion for digital marketing and the rapid evolution of display advertising into programmatic advertising led Yves-Alain to join Publigroupe and Publicitas as head of digital development, transforming the company from a classical print based business to a digital house. After the private equity sale of Publicitas, Yves-Alain joined Laureate Hospitality Education, which he re-named Sommet Education when the company was bought by a private equity. At Sommet Education Yves-Alain increased the enrolment of students through digital channels at a CAGR of 20% per year, implementing a marketing technology stack, Data analytics and BI capabilities to drive enrolments from 100 countries for two premium education brands.
Yves-Alain now advises premium and B2B brands in their digital transformation and the development of exceptional digital customer journeys through the use of storytelling and marketing technologies enabling personalisation at scale and higher return on marketing investments through data analytics.
