Her career started performing with her father, the renowned Irish singer-songwriter Christie Hennessy, from as soon as she was able to sing. Aged just 21, Hermione took over her father’s management, signing him to Larry Mullen and U2’s label Mother Records, Warner Music and Chrysalis Music, as well as performing live on TV, accompanying Christie in the media and on tour while singing on all of his albums. Together father and daughter had hit singles and albums until his passing in 2007. His statue now stands in his home town square of Tralee in County Kerry where the town host the biggest songwriting competition in Ireland in his name and honour.

At the age of 19 Hermione cut her teeth at in the Arts and Entertainment Department of The Greater London Council before working for DJ Tony Prince as Head of Promotions forhis newly formed DMC (Disco Mix Club) before at the age of 21 becoming the youngest ever Deputy MD specialising for Jive Records in A&R and Artist Development and working with some of the biggest names in the music industry.

Forming her own Management company 5 years later, which not only acted for Christie, but artists including Aled Jones who she signed to Telstar Records and Sarah Brightman, she continued to consult for Jive Records. When Jive Records was sold to BMG, Hermione decided to open her own creative company Black & Blonde establishing herself as a Creative Director commissioning videos, documentaries, photo-shoots and artwork as well as an A&R source for artists and labels.

In 2003, she was asked by BBC Northern Ireland to front the panel of their new 12 part prime-time TV show called Country Cool and having written songs for artists including Frances Black and Roisin O’Reilly, Hermione launched her solo career. ‘Songs My Father Taught Me’ spent 5 weeks at the No.1 spot on the Irish charts, and generated a hit radio record with her cover of the Neil Finn from Crowded House penned song ‘Fall At Your Feet’. Her TV appearances and press profile are many and varied across both Ireland and the UK having supported artists like Willie Nelson, Elaine Paige and Leona Lewis on tour.

In 2007 after Christie’s passing, Hermione became the first ambassador for the awareness of awareness for the Asbestos Cancer Society.  She helped raise money for the charity as well as acting as a support system to the families who needed advice, contacts and support. She spoke on the subject in the Houses of Parliament, at various rallies and seminars and continues to raise awareness whenever and wherever she can.

Rich with ideas and a wealth of global contacts, Hermione formed H&I Music with her sister Amber Ross. A multi-faceted business that linked artist management with recording, marketing, distribution, publicity and A&R alongside their own label, the sisters released Dionne Warwick’s 50th Anniversary CD ‘Now’, managed the legendary record producer Phil Ramone and became Executive Director of M2 Films based in Denmark, London and LA, supervising the music for the LEGO brand Friends movie Girlz 4 Life alongside managing the teen girlband L2M who worked with LEGO and she signed to a $500K recording contract with Warner Bros Records  and to You Tube/Disney for the  TV series ‘Hyperlinked!’.

Last year signing to Universal Music with her siblings as ‘Hennessy’, they toured Ireland to sold-out audiences performing Christie’s material before over-seeing, performing on and releasing a posthumous album for her father that was a re-imagining of his works by world-renowned 45-piece RTE concert orchestra. It entered the Irish album chart in the Top 10 and remained there for the Christmas period. This culminated in a sold out live performance with the orchestra in February of this year.

Continuing to manage recording artists, A&R and strategise special campaigns and projects including a collaboration with the Ballet Rambert, she is now working to advise and teach the next generation of artists within music and entertainment along with giving talks focusing on women’s empowerment over 50 years old in the broader business community.
